Women and cycling in Iran
Women and cycling in Iran
Your hair, your body, your walking, your laughter, your makeup, and everything that belongs to you as a woman should be covered, why? Because you are a woman and you have born in a land where the rulers have mixed religion and all other issues of the society together and you have to act according to their will and wishes. But how long does the Iranian government not want to accept that controlling a woman's body is a private matter, the Iranian government is afraid of any behavior or movement by women, an example is cycling, which they consider an ugly thing, in this regard, Iran's Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei has issued a fatwa stating that women's cycling is not forbidden if it is in a place that is not in public view. He has also been said elsewhere that home is a good place to exercise, but now we need to know that cycling should also be done at home.
It seems like there are currently no major problems in Iran, such as poverty, unemployment, child labor, rape, kolbari, and economic problems and the only major problem is women’s cycling. And they think it is a big problem that needs to be solved. Why? Because here the name of a woman and women's cycling is prominent, and wherever the name of a woman is mentioned, it is the biggest problem for the mullahs, for example, on the one hand, when a few strand of a woman’s hair is not covered and it is her inalienable right how to live, and on the other hand, there are people who struggle with poverty and hunger, according to the mullahs, the problem that needs to be solved is the uncovered hair of women.
This existing violence in society and among ordinary people is one of the achievements of the government over the past 43 years. For example, one of these achievements is the patriarchal society that acts under the pretext of honor against women that is a completely behavior ugly and every day we hear the news of suicide and murder of a woman, a girl and a mother in different parts of this country who are killed by their brothers, fathers and husbands under the pretext of honor.
The Islamic Republic of Iran is always fishing in troubled waters and discriminates between men and women under various pretexts and has enforced this meaningless and baseless law against women for many years and always raises gender inequality and discrimination, these behaviors of the regime of the Islamic Republic of Iran are not the first and will not be the last, But women's awareness of the past and their constant and active presence on the battlefield has caused great concern for the government and they are kind of afraid of the women's movement. And these violence and discrimination have affected women more than men and has activated their inner abilities and women want their situation to improve and the oppression and gender discrimination to end, and they want more freedom. The famous French writer Simone de Beauvoir believed that the suppression of a society is possible only through women because women are powerful and can raise free children.
Without a shadow of a doubt this is why the Iranian government has exercised all its power over women and has silenced and imprisoned them. But now, due to access to the Internet networks and social media, every woman and every freedom-loving person in Iran can send photos and videos of the oppression and mistreatment against them to other parts of the world. And each of them is the source of a fundamental change for their rights.
